soup: home-made soup made by grandma, grandma looks so elegant, she dresses just like what i imagine a european lady would wear ( I didnt take pictures of her..too bad:( )
This dish symbolises a sweet year ahead, you dip the slices of apples in the honey syrup and eat..very nice!!!

Bernice's home-stay family are really really very nice people. They invited the 3 of us for a dinner to celebrate their Jewish New Year. Its really an eye opening experience, because I only get to see such dinner events on TV shows like discovery travel and living, 'come dine with me'. The dinner was a simple event for around 12 of us.First they lit up the 2 candles in the middle of the long dining table to symbolize the start of a new year. Then the wonderful dinner begins!
